My Birthday!

I know I am a little late on this, but my birthday was last Thursday! April 24! I am now 11 but I WILL continue posting some of my work as a 10 year old, periodically.

70th Birthday Cake for My Grandma

Last Friday afternoon at 4:00 pm , I started working on a cake for my Grandma's 70th Birthday. I made the batter for the chocolate portion of the cake (and bake them) , I go to rehearsal and come back to find my chocolate cakes a crumbly mess! I made a rookie mistake... NO PARCHMENT PAPER!!(so that caused the cake to stick to the pan and break) I was up until 1:00 am working on the cake batters and baking for the Vanilla and Chocolate cakes. I got up at 7:30 am, got to work on the cake around 8:00 am and worked until 4:15 pm! This cake was my first "on order" cake, it was three tiers.


All Cakes were 2 layer

Top Tier: 6" Chocolate and Vanilla Checkerboard cake with homemade Chocolate Mousse filling
Middle Tier: 8" Vanilla cake with homemade Blueberry Reduction
Bottom Tier: 10" Chocolate cake with homemade Cream Cheese Icing filling

Covered in white Fondant, Fondant Flowers, Blueberries, and Buttercream Icing.

4:00 pm - 5:15 pm = 1 hour 15 minutes
9:30 pm - 1:00 am = 3 hours, 30 minutes
9:00 am - 4:15 pm = 6 hours, 15 minutes


Total: 11 hours, 0 minutes
